Description

Maine Vacation Week

Abstract

A week ago, my family traveled 16 hours to Maine to spend time with my cousins, aunts, uncles, and Nonna. We fished, hiked, glided through the lake in the canoe, swam, and even played kickball, but three of my favorite parts of the vacation were the splendid lobster feast, shopping at a Maine Walmart, and visiting Flying Pond Variety Store.

In Nonna’s yard, at her picnic tables, we gobbled cooked lobster, corn on the cob, salad, pasta, cornbread muffins, brownies, and blueberry cobbler. I was delighted at the amount of tasty food there was!

Helen, Dad, Nicholas, and I all drove to Walmart in Farmington one afternoon. In the Walmart, there was a Subway and I chose a ham, pepperoni, fresh mozzarella, black olive, mayonnaise 6-inch sub. I also gambled, two dollars on a claw grabbing toy machine. I lost twice! Dad bought a blinker light for the minivan, and I helped him replace the dead bulb.

In Vienna, Maine, just two miles from Mount Vernon, I went to the Flying Pond Variety Store. I selected a cap that said Vienna, Maine and had a moose on the front. My mother thought it was too expensive, but bought it for me because she said it was a nice souvenir.

My best vacation this year was the last week in July in Maine. I filled my stomach with joy and also purchased a cool cap to shield my eyes from the sun, going West home.
