Why I Need a P. Mauriat Tenor Saxophone

Abstract

A P.Mauriat tenor is an excellent brand that makes amazing professional tenor saxophones. I currently have a Giardienelli by Selmer which is a good saxophone, but it is nothing like a P. Mauriat tenor saxophone. I have only played on my instructor's P. Mauriat for a short period of time, but I immediately fell in love with it.
I fell in love with this horn because it produces a rich bold sound, and you really don't have to force out any notes, which is amazing because there usually are at least one or two notes that you always have to force out on a tenor. Not only could this horn produce a bold sound, but you could hold the note without any fading in the sound. All the way up through the scale the notes are the same volume, and you don't have to fight with any of them. Before I had the horn that I currently have, I had a different horn. I always had to fight with the notes and the sound coming out of the horn. The sound on this horn does not compare to the P. Mauriat at all. The sound was not as bold or as rich as the P. Mauriat sound. The P. Mauriat just put my old horn to shame.
Another reason I need this horn is because it feels extremely well in my hands. Now you always want a horn to feel good in your hands because that is how you play it. This horn just feels amazing. It was easy to get to all the keys and none of them stuck. Also, all the keys move extremely well and none of them make a clicking sound. With my old saxophone I always had a problem with sticky keys and clicking, verses this one when there is no problem for the brief period when I played it. The saxophone I have now is a Giardienellie by Selmer, but before this one I had a Giardienellie by Estmen. This is when my instructor let me use his P. Mauriat. I couldn't even begin to compare it to my horn because it just blew it out of the water.
I also need a P. Mauriat because it is a professional horn, and it is priced well. This is surprising for a brand like this because usually professional tenors go for ten thousand dollars, But the P. Mauriat I want goes for half the cost and it is a better overall horn than the others.
Getting this horn would mean that I would have two tenor saxophones but that is not a bad thing. This is not a bad thing because I am in: Marching Band, Instrumental Ensembles, Show Band, All County Band, All Area Band and a Quartet. I would use my current saxophone during marching band and show band. I would have the P. Mauriat, during this time, at home to practice music for my auditions for All County and All Area. I did do well this year placing 1st in All County and 6th in All State but I think I could do better if I had another horn at home to practice in the evening. Another horn at home would be easier because I would not have to transport the horn everyday to and from school, a saxophone is heavy and bulky. As well as using the P. Mauriat for those two things I would also use it for the quartet I am part of, instrumental ensembles at school, and all state ifl make it in the top two because they only take two tenor saxophones. This also means the risk of me hurting the horns would not be as great because I would be using two horns for different bands. The P. Mauriat I want is the P. Mauriat PMST-S00BXSK Professional Tenor Saxophone (This is also known as The Black Pearl). I want this specific saxophone because it produces a bright tone with loads of clarity. I also want this horn because it has beautiful black nickel plating, which is complimented with the astonishing silver key work, adding beautiful aesthetic to a wonderfully made horn which makes this design that much better.
These are the reasons why I need the P. Mauriat PMST-S00BXSK-Professional Tenor Saxophone I need this horn because it produces a nice bold sound, it feels amazing in my hands, the tone is the same throughout the whole horn, and I would be able to practice more during marching band season.
