Bubble's Blue Ribbon Day

Abstract

Hi, my name is Bubbles, and I am a cow. I am black, with a white face. One day a little girl came by farm and picked me out to be shown at the fair. That is how I got my name, “Bubbles." My big brother “Massey” was shown at the fair, but I do not know much about him, because I was not born yet.
I like my new owner. She comes to visit me on the farm and play with me. One day, my owner came to my farm with a trailer. She loaded me up and took me to a new farm at her house. She started practicing with me and I kept getting better and better. I started putting my feet in the right place. I stopped being stubborn and would walk when she wanted me to.
Finally, it was time for us to go to our first show. I was a little nervous and excited because I knew I do good. First my owner washed me and gave me a massage with a brush. She blow dried my hair and I felt like I was in a wind storm. After she was done getting my ready, I was shiny and clean. My owner looked her best too. She wore a giant bow in her hair that she said was for good luck.
I met some other cows there. Most of them seemed pretty nice, but some of them were not. I made a new friend named Marshmallow. She was one of the nice cows and her owner became friends with my owner. After I played with my new friend, I got lots of attention from my owner. We practiced walking around the ring.
Now, it was show time. I walked into the ring and my owner showed me to the judge. I stood in that line for a really long time for the judge to check me out and while we stood there my owner took her show stick and rubbed me on the belly and scratched me. I felt like I was in heaven and that I could fall asleep while standing up, but I couldn't because I would miss all the action that was happening.
The judge picked up his microphone and called out the last place cow’s name. He said
Bo Peep.” The judge kept calling names. I felt good because there were only two names left. Finally, it was time for the winner. The judge yelled my name, and my owner was handed a banner. We got pictures together and had so much fun. We were both very excited.
At the end of the day, I went back onto the trailer and back to my owner’s farm. All the cows in the lot were congratulating me for winning the show. There was one red cow named “Snow Drop” and she told me about her adventure when she went to the fair. It made me excited to have my chance to go to the fair. Today was a great day. My owner brought me some special feed to celebrate which was really grain. I cannot wait until our next show.
