Dandelion Dreams
Abstract
Set free in the morning air,
I drift away - I know not where. Higher I climb in the warm sunshine, rising far above the tallest pine. Floating softly in the sky,
searching for my place to lie.
Far I travel in my quest,,
in hopes to find a place to rest.
Then I see far down below,
a special place I'll try to grow. Falling slowly through still air, beneath the sky so blue and fair.
I settle in a pavement crack,
a strange new home, for soil I lack. No time for growth - the season's late, through Winter dark and cold I wait. With warm Spring rains I come alive, setting roots in hopes to thrive.
Time goes by and for me I wish,
the Sun, the rain, for them to nourish. I raise one single, yellow flower, waiting for the special hour.
Beneath bright Sun I turn white, ripened by the Summer's light.
I feel the wind upon my face, blowing me again through space ...
