Description

Nico's Mission

Abstract

Most of my day is spent in my room, playing video games on my computer, and watching YouTube on my tablet. My bed is covered with many stuffed animal friends. Nico, an orange friendly axolotl that seems to always be hungry...and I mean ALWAYS hungry, is one of my favorites. He cleans my bed any time I accidently drop food. One day, I dropped some Cheez-It crumbs. Nico saw this and zoomed to eat the crumbs.
“Where can I find more?” he said.
I did not want to tell him since they were my Cheez-Its. If I told him where they were I might not have a single Cheez-It left.
“Cody!” my mom yelled trying to get me attention, “Could you unload the dishes?” While I was doing that apparently Nico started to search every inch of the house. When I was done, I heard Nico struggling. I looked over and saw a small Nico trying to jump to the Cheez-Its.
“Parkour!” Nico yelled enthusiastically, while failing at his attempt. Apparently, saying parkour while doing parkour, does not make you good at parkour. He never made it past the first shelf. The Cheez-Its were on the third shelf, clearly out of his reach. I told him that they were my Cheez-Its and if he wanted them, he would have to go through me. He proceeded to walk around me. I picked him up.

I picked him up.
“Why can’t I have just a few Cheez-Its, Cody?” Nico asked.
“Because you will eat them all,” I said.
“No, I won’t,” he replied.
“Yes, you will,” I disagreed.
This continued for what seemed like an hour. I decided to just play Minecraft instead of arguing. Then I heard a crash and then a thud. I went to see what happened. Nico was on the ground with a ladder next to him.
How he got the ladder we will never know. “That’s enough!” I scolded. “Try other foods to find something you like,” I said.
Nico replied, “As long as it’s orange.”
I search the house for anything orange. I started to give him one food at a time. First, Doritos, then an orange, salmon (his least favorite), a basketball, Legos, cheddar cheese, and the only thing he liked more than Cheez-Its, Cheetos!
Now I can finally eat me Cheez-Its in peace.
